ICT Club: Home Network Hacking
Tuesday 01/04/2014 at 1.20pm in C2
All are welcome.
A talk and software demonstration about home computer networks.
Topics covered include:
- Home network IP address systems
- Security scanning software
- Remote control software
- The Raspbery Pi as a security tool
In the press the term 'hacker' typically indicates someone who seeks and exploits weaknesses in other peoples computer systems - a so called 'black hat'. But in the tech world it also indicates a hobbyist who makes innovative customizations or combinations of retail electronic and computer equipment, someone who creates computer code providing a quick or inelegant solution to a particular problem, or someone who helps prevent 'black hat' hacker attacks - a 'white hat'. This is a talk about 'white hat' hacking.
