World Maths Day

The World Maths Day Challenge involves students from all over the world playing against each other in real-time battles of mental arithmetic.

The first time a student signs in they can visit the Face Maker and create the avatar that will represent them. Why not login and give it a try ?

wmd2

Students have 60 seconds to answer as many mental arithmetic questions as possible. Students score 1 point for every correct answer. The more games the students play, the more points they earn. Students are automatically matched against other students of a similar ability. This is done via. a ranking system based on their last ten games.

The actual challenge commences the moment it is Wednesday 3rd  March on the International Date Line and concludes 48 hours later when it is no longer 3rd  March anywhere in the world!

Internet Explorer 8 Advice

The latest version of Internet Explorer (IE8) has been causing much grief within the MGS community for many months. Fixes and workarounds for many of the issues are now available.

Details are available from within the RM Network section of the MGScentral ICT Support course in a document called: Interner_Explorer_8_Advice.pdf.

Users now have the ability to access MGS webemail, their 'Home Directory' contents and Learning Resources from home using IE8.

IE8 is more secure than other versions of Internet Explorer and its installation has been part of the Microsoft Automatic Update system for many months.

MGS staff and pupils who agree with the Acceptable Use Policy may login to access the contents of this site.
