Google Security Update
To maintain privacy Google has recently completed transferring all its web based services to use secure encrypted connections.
From now on when using Google services such as search, maps, drive, calendar, and sites all browsers use the https protocol rather than just http.
This security improvement makes it much harder for hackers, ISPs and security services to view activity. Enhancements to the school web content filtering service to cope with these changes causes some minor unavoidable lack of functionality to some Google services being used in school.
Access to Google services such Google Drive now needs to be done directly via a suitable URL such as drive.google.com. For technical reasons access to Google account profiles and some Google navigation icons is no longer supported in school.
